As a veteran- and family-owned business, we specialize in designing and installing custom solar grids, clearing properties and driveways, fencing, container painting, and more. We’re here to bring your off-grid vision to life!

In 2022, Steven Ulman decided he’d had enough of city life—especially after the challenges of the 2020 lockdowns. He purchased a 40-acre undeveloped lot in the Mojave Desert and began building his dream off-grid property from scratch. From a simple, empty trailer to a fully self-sustaining retreat with cabins, a stand-alone solar grid, and a water system, Steven’s journey was far from easy. But it was incredibly rewarding.

However, building an off-grid property is not without its hurdles. Steven faced long days of driving one hour to town for supplies, fixing tools, and troubleshooting systems. But after time, he overcame those challenges. Now, he proudly states:
"I’m not just surviving—I’m thriving."
Steven’s goal now is to help others avoid the mistakes he made, reduce their build time, and enjoy their off-grid life sooner—while ensuring their systems are self-sustainable and safe for their families. He’s passionate about learning and attends renewable energy conferences to stay at the forefront of off-grid innovation.

Carly’s journey to the off-grid lifestyle began after her successful college athletic career at the College of Charleston, where she was a four-year starter for the softball team. Armed with a degree in Business Administration and a passion for simplicity, Carly traded the hustle and bustle of city life for a peaceful, off-grid desert existence.
"My favorite part? My mailbox has never seen a utility bill."
In addition to managing Arizona Off Grid Solutions behind the scenes, Carly loves sharing her personal off-grid experiences on Youtube at The Wolves Den Ranch and hosts the Entrepreneurial Wellness Podcast. For Carly, living off-grid is more than just about energy independence—it’s about embracing a simpler, more mindful way of life.
